‘Dance’, the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself. CMRNPS Pre-primary celebrated its annual day with unprecedented fanfare on 7 th February 2020 at the school premises. The theme of the event was “Our Rhythm Feet” which connected the rhythms of the world all wrapped in one single activity, “Dance”.
The stage was adorned with the various dance forms that our students had prepared to showcase to their parents and kin. The program started off with a devotional dance to invoke the blessings of the almighty. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp by our chief guest Mr.Bhaskar Reddy (Director, CMR Group) and the welcome address and annual school report by our Head of School Ms.Swati Soni.
The event began with our little narrators taking over the show from the teachers and leading the complete Annual Day performance by waving their dialogues and the performance into it as and when required. Our little ones conducted the whole event with such ease and smoothness as if they were a pro at it.
The first event of the day was the Zumba – a high energy full body workout dance, which set the rhythm for the rest of the dances. The parents thoroughly enjoyed the exercise moves of our students. This was followed by the Classical Dance which, with its melodious number, gracious moves and expressions won the hearts of all the parents. The Fan dance was a treat to the eyes, as our little sub juniors performed the Chinese dance with such ease and perfection using the fans as their props. The belly shake and the moves with the tambourine were the highlights of the Arabian dance.
The Salsa took the crowd by surprise, as they saw how our Kindergarten seniors coordinated with their partners to the rhythm of the music and performed. Sombrero with its feet tapping simple steps and big hats delighted the viewers. Our little Hawaiians stole the show, with their shakes and sways and their colorful costumes and flowers. The dances came to an end with the Bollywood number which just brought back the same energy that Zumba had set the stage with at the beginning of the program. The program ended with a “Thank you note’ from one of our students.
